Robbie Bellis

Robbie Bellis (Fellow) is a pastor of the Eglise Protestante Evangélique of Louvain-la-Neuve, a Roman Catholic University town in French-speaking Belgium. He obtained his Th.M from Westminster Seminary Philadelphia. His Thesis was on the decline of the belief in penal substitution in the Roman Catholic Church during the 20th Century. Additionally, Robbie lectures one day a week at the Institut Biblique de Bruxelles where he has recently lectured on Contemporary Catholicism. He is married and has four children.

As evangelicals, we need to heed Margery’s call to better understand contemporary Roman Catholic teaching and practice. We cannot rely on out-dated caricatures and Protestant slogans wielded with little understanding of the nuance of modern Roman Catholicism.
